Since we started our
Shoes That Fit program here in the Scottsdale, AZ area,
we've provided shoes and clothing to over 2,100
children. The best part about volunteering
for Shoes That Fit is ...being able to "give back" to our community in a meaningful way. We help build the self-esteem of children-in-need by providing them with new athletic shoes.
FATE group is named in memory of Sharon & Stewart Levine's fathers (Frank & Nate). We provide new atheltic shoes to children-in-need in the Scottsdale/Phoenix schools. We have opened 3 shoe closets (located in the Paradise Valley Unified and Scottsdale Unified schools) so school nurses & social workers can have immediate access to shoes for children who come to school without properly fitting footwear, in just socks, flip-flops, ill-fitting shoes or barefoot. We rely on community support in our year-round efforts to provide new atheltic shoes so that children-in-need can participate in school/recreational activities on an "equal footing"!!!
