Touching the lives of schoolchildren in need since 1992

Are children embarrassed to receive the item of clothing?

Children are frequently embarrassed by their circumstances, and do not want the stigma of being a child “in need”. Therefore, we recommend that new shoes and clothes should be given to children in private. How do the parents of the child receiving the item know where the new clothes/shoes came from?

Our program supplies several tools to help manage a Shoes That Fit chapter, and one of these is a “note to the parents” that explains the Shoes That Fit program, and where the new shoes and clothing came from.
