In March of this year, Knighted Ventures lost a valued colleague and friend in Stace Woodward. Taken from his family and loved ones in a car accident, this loss was sudden and was felt deeply by the people who knew him. Described by his supervisors in Los Angeles as someone who “genuinely embraced life and made [it] a point to live every moment,” Stace (only twenty-four at the time of his passing) embodied the integrity, innovation, and service that Knighted Ventures is known for.

His work colleagues and friends wanted to do something good in his name, and thought of the perfect solution: Stace was an avid shoe collector, and his loved ones thought that children in need receiving shoes in his name would be the perfect tribute.

In conjunction with Shoes That Fit, Knighted Ventures donated 100 pairs of shoes to students at Baldy View Elementary School in Upland, CA — the same school district that Stace grew up in. His parents were also in attendance.

These children may not know the story behind why they received a new pair of shoes, but Stace’s warmth could be found in their smiles and laughs that day. Both Shoes That Fit and Knighted Ventures value the idea that children are our collective future, and each step these kids take is a direct result of one man’s memory.

“We really are about so much more than shoes. When kids receive a brand new box of shoes picked out for them, they light up. They run around. They play and laugh like all kids should. What better way to honor someone than to fill a child with hope like that,” says Shoes That Fit Executive Director Amy Fass.

Shoes That Fit would like to thank Knighted Ventures for its support and offer our deepest condolences to the Woodward family.
