For the third year in a row, the LA Galaxy Foundation helped out 101 students at Catskill Elementary School in their neighborhood of Carson, California. The soccer team sent their Girl's Academy, a group of rising teenage players to distribute shoes and lead a soccer clinic.

The girls were able to give each child a brand new pair of Adidas athletic shoes and even helped the kids try them on. Each child also received an LA Galaxy branded backpack so they could easily carry their new shoes home. After they distributed shoes to all the kids they led them in drills to improve their soccer skills. The kids were able to do some fancy footwork thanks to their new sneakers. It was a blast!

Altogether, it was a great way to encourage kids to be more active, play together, and work hard to develop their skills. Plus, the team’s alien mascot, Cozmo, also came out to support and cheer on the kids. He was definitely a sight to see especially the day after Halloween. In case you're wondering what Cozmo is, he's a UFO (Universal Futbol Olympian).

Not only was it the day after Halloween but it also happened to be the day before Dia De Los Muertos (a Mexican tradition and a day of remembering loved ones who have passed). The principal, Suzanne Zopatti, had dressed the part with an outfit sporting cartoon skeletons. It reminded us of the movie “Coco”. At least these kids have brand new sneakers to help them journey through the Land of the Dead!

Thank you, LA Galaxy Foundation, Girl's Academy, Adidas, and Cozmo! Thank you also to Catskill Elementary School for allowing us to be a part of this amazing day.
