‘Tis the season for giving and that’s exactly what the San Antonio Spurs did this December!
For the third year in a row, Coach Gregg Popovich and team partnered with Shoes That Fit to deliver new shoes and joy to 490 students at a San Antonio’s John J. Pershing Elementary School.
Popovich has roots in Claremont where Shoes That Fit is based, and has remained close to the organization over the years. Thanks to him, events like these are a slam dunk.
Point guard Derrick White was at the delivery and told the local NBC News, “You see him (Popovich) doing things, you see the faces on the people he helps, you just want to help as much as you can to give back to the community.”
