We all know the story of Cinderella, but this September, it’s getting a new twist!
We are proud to announce a project with Amazon Prime Video in conjunction with the premiere of Cinderella, a musically-driven bold new take on the traditional story you grew up with. The heroine (Camila Cabello) is an ambitious young woman whose dreams are bigger than the world will allow, but with the help of her Fab G (Billy Porter), she is able to persevere and make her dreams come true. The film features an all-star cast including musical sensations Camila Cabello and Idina Menzel, as well as Billy Porter, Pierce Brosnan, and Minnie Driver.
To celebrate the premiere of this new Cinderella, Amazon Prime Video and Zappos gave new sneakers to almost 5,000 families and children in 11 cities across the US.
Kids from San Francisco to Philly, and from Miami to Chicago, opened brand new shoes and a box of Cinderella school supplies.
Camila Cabello, the chart-topping singer, makes her acting debut as the lead character of Cinderella. This time, Cinderella is an ambitious young woman, ready to achieve her dreams despite the obstacles.
Camila recorded a video for the kids receiving the shoes and Cinderella boxes, expressing how delighted she was to partner in giving shoes and other “magic surprises.” “I hope this story inspires you to always dream big and believe in yourself because dreams do come true.”
The partnership kicked off with two special deliveries in Los Angeles and Compton. Amazon delivery teams in Cinderella branded Amazon vans rolled onto campus, with new shoes and Cinderella-themed boxes full of school supplies. The children were thrilled to receive new sneakers (a tad bit more practical and up-to-date than glass slippers). These new athletic shoes will help these children go back to school ready to learn, comfy enough to play, and proud of how they look.
