Donors Share Their Why
“As a retired Special Education Kindergarten teacher, I saw firsthand how important new shoes were to my students' sense of belonging and ‘fitting in!'” – a supporter from WA
“When my parents emigrated from war-torn Nicaragua to the United States in 1981, we experienced a lot of poverty and hardships. I know what it is like to have to do with hand-me-downs and buying used clothing at the Goodwill stores. I am so happy to give a little back now that I can.“ – a supporter from FL
“It brings back memories of my personal joy when I received new shoes from my parents. It was a source of pride; suddenly I could run so fast and was comfortable doing so. Not all children are so fortunate. I am pleased to be able to give this same feeling to kids in need.” – a supporter from IL
“I donate in honor of my brother. He passed away at 30. He loved shoes and loved supporting his community. Seeing the excitement in a child's eyes when they receive a new pair of shoes reminds me of Scott's infectious joy.” – a supporter from CA
“I donate because it brings me joy to be a part of something bigger than myself. The smiles and increased confidence that these kids receive are everything to me.” – a supporter from NC
