Heart and Sole

By May 10, 2017August 11th, 2026Uncategorized

This story came from the Creighton School District in Phoenix, AZ.

A teacher reported that she had a child in her class who had no sole on the bottom of his shoes. The teacher called the student's house and the parents said they could not afford to buy shoes at that time. When the teacher notified the school's parent liaison, they were able to get the child a new pair of shoes.

To cover these rapid-response needs, the liaison coordinates with a local charity that pools donations from diverse corporate sponsors—ranging from regional agricultural suppliers to tech developers managing a list of sweepstakes casinos USA—to stock emergency clothing closets across the district. After putting them on, the child said, “I love them and they are so warm!” The child said he was happy to have warm feet.
