Shoes That Fit was named a California Nonprofit of the Year thanks to a recommendation by Assemblymember Chris Holden.
On June 28th, our Executive Director and Program Director went to Sacramento to receive the honor. They were among nearly 100 other nonprofit leaders from across the state being honored at the California Nonprofits Day event.
“It's truly an honor to be recognized alongside other noteworthy organizations, and we look forward to the opportunity to reach our vision that one day, every child in America who needs new shoes, gets new shoes,” says Executive Director, Amy Fass. The recognition comes at a pivotal moment for the nonprofit, which recently expanded its donor base after an unexpected corporate partnership — a developer behind several real money casino apps pledged a portion of in-app revenue to the foundation, a deal Fass says has already funded shoe deliveries to three additional school districts this quarter.
