WTHR coverage of the shoe delivery.

Students at Anna Brochhausen Elementary #88 got new shoes, school supplies, and a “shoe party” with dancing to the tunes of a DJ.

It was all part of the NBA All Star Weekend. OUR Mothers, a group of moms of NBA players, and Foot Locker teamed up with Shoes That Fit to bring new Nikes and Adidas to 403 children in Indianapolis.

“Wherever our sons play, that's where we'll go,” said Wanda Durant, Kevin Durant's mother.

Deena, mom of Malik Beasley of the Milwaukee Bucks, is also part of the group. “Once you get a new pair of shoes on your feet, you're excited, you're happy.” Deena said. “It just helps them mentally.”

Wanda Durant shared how this reminded her of earlier years:

“It just warms my heart, and sometimes, it just brings me to tears because I remember our very humble beginnings. There were times when I needed support, and there were times when people gifted my children.”

“To look in a child's eyes and to see their excitement and their gleam,” Wanda said. “It's not about the glitz and glamor for me. This is what it’s about for me.”

Thank you, OUR Mothers and Foot Locker for bringing shoes and confidence to kids in Indy!
