Thursday, October 3rd, over 30 Nordstrom employees came out in force to deliver shoes.

The shoes were gifts for 300 kids at Dunlap Elementary in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of southeast Seattle.

It is part of Nordstrom’s Back to School campaign for Shoes That Fit, a nationwide effort to send more than 25,000 kids back to school in high-quality shoes that let them learn, play, and thrive.

Seattle is known as the Emerald City. But instead of ruby slippers, the kids got brand-new athletic shoes! (Much more comfy, we think!)

Brad Tucker of Seattle’s rugby team, the Seawolves, also came to help deliver shoes. The 6’5 New Zealand native was excited to give back in his new city. He helped kids loosen up their new shoes, try them on, and tie up the laces.

The Dunlap Dolphins’ motto is “Imagine Greatness”. We hope new shoes help these children envision themselves on that journey!
